i don’t appreciate either that my humanity is inescapably hidden behind my money, power, appearance, etc. but you know that’s inevitable. A fundamental part of nature, like gravity. And YES there sureashell are PLENTY of people who do identify primarily with their beauty, wealth, and power because they HAVE enough of it to just get everything they want that way. But is that what you want?
We should remember Sinead O’Connor. She doesn’t let things stand in her way. Supposedly somebody told her that superficial beauty alone would get her a record contract. So she shaved her head. Years later she essentially sacrificed her career by protesting child abuse in the catholic church. She ripped up a photo of the pope on national TV. She’s just gonna be who she is and that’s that.
