i cant imagine living in a society that isn't permiated by the poisonous lie of the american dream, equal opportunity, pulling up your own bootstraps. And, as so often happens, the lie itself is the very thing that precludes us from ever having any chance of achieving it in reality. Belief in the lie is the reason why it's a lie.
