not talkin about that, of course all that is true. In fact, if ya count factory farming, the overall horror we collectively do is incomprehensively worse than ever. but i’m talkin about the typical conduct of war. it’s so not what it used to be. At least from the point of view of industrial humanity it sure ain’t. medical technology has greatly diminished the pure horror experienced by soldiers on the battlefield, greatly diminished the fatality rates, the agony endured by the wounded, the crippling effect of their wounds, and greatly improved the quality of life for the victims.
i think it does remain on the battlefield. It may sound like splitting hairs, but i’m not talkin about war in the general sense of the word.
