Sounds to me like you have a phobia. And, strange as it sounds, there could be a genetic component. A lot of people have extremely bizarr, and strangely specific, quirks and phobias that absolutely defy any kind of rational explanation. Others have extremely inexplicable cognitive biases, like flat earthers, conspiracy nuts, etc.

And it's a fact that most of modern humanity are in denial about the extent to which their convictions and perceptions are genetic. But it's true.
