we should bear in mind that the reason police officers could do this is because the general public would never believe that an officer would do such a thing. Anyone at the time who tried to publicly tell the truth was laughed at and dismissed while the authorities murdered an innocent child.
And this is so much worse than murder as it is typically perpetrated. To lock up an innocent victim and he is forced to witness his own murder over a period of days or weeks, having to constantly look into the eyes of his killers who are going out and putting on a public face of righteous duty while they are killing him, knowing all the while that they are perfectly aware that the real killer is out there somewhere, that they are doing this merely for convenience because they don’t wanna go out and do their job.
How do we even begin to comprehend the existence of such pure evil?
